In a world where conversations around self-worth, boundaries and personal growth are becoming increasingly important, Komal Narang, ICF ACC Life Coach and the creator behind Myhappinesz, is building a space that encourages people to look inward and consciously create a life that feels more aligned with who they truly are.

What began as a lifestyle platform has gradually evolved into a space centred around mindset, confidence, relationships, self-worth and personal growth. Drawing from her own experiences of motherhood, life transitions and personal transformation, Komal brings a deeply relatable perspective to the idea of choosing yourself without guilt.

In this conversation, she opens up about the evolution of Myhappinesz, the importance of boundaries, the difference between advice and coaching, and why lasting change begins with self-awareness.

From Lifestyle Content to a Journey of Personal Growth

Myhappinesz has evolved from lifestyle content into a platform focused on mindset, confidence and personal growth. What sparked this shift in your own journey?

Myhappinesz has always been an extension of my own journey. Over the years, as I experienced different phases of life, I realised that the biggest changes weren’t external they started with the way I thought, the choices I made and the boundaries I learned to set.

What began as a lifestyle space gradually became a platform where I could talk more openly about mindset, self-worth, confidence, relationships and personal growth. Becoming a Life Coach gave that journey more structure and allowed me to turn many of the lessons I had personally experienced into tools that could help others too.

Learning to Choose Yourself

You often speak about setting boundaries, choosing yourself and building a more conscious life. What is one mindset shift you see people struggle with the most?

I think one of the biggest struggles is understanding that choosing yourself is not the same as being selfish.

A lot of people have been conditioned to measure their worth through how much they give, tolerate or accommodate. They struggle with saying no because they associate boundaries with rejection, guilt or conflict.

The mindset shift is realising that you can care about people without abandoning yourself in the process. Your needs, time and emotional well-being are not something you have to earn permission to prioritise.

Beyond Advice: Creating Lasting Change

As an ACC Life Coach, how do you approach the difference between simply giving advice and actually helping someone create lasting change in their life?

Advice often tells someone what they should do. Coaching helps them understand why they are where they are, what they actually want and what may be getting in their way.

As a coach, I don’t see my role as giving someone a ready-made solution. I help them become more aware of their patterns, beliefs and choices, so they can make decisions that are aligned with who they are and the life they want to create.

For me, lasting change comes from awareness followed by intentional action not from being told what to do.

How Life Experiences Shape the Way We Grow

Your content often connects personal growth with real-life experiences, including motherhood and major life transitions. How has your own journey shaped the way you coach others?

My own experiences have made me understand that personal growth isn’t always a neat or linear process.

Motherhood, major life transitions and having to rebuild different parts of my life taught me that sometimes choosing yourself requires uncomfortable decisions. It also taught me the difference between simply surviving a phase and consciously creating a life beyond it.

That perspective influences my coaching because I don’t approach people as problems that need fixing. I believe people often need the right questions, awareness and space to reconnect with themselves and make different choices.

Creating a Moment of Reflection

What do you hope someone takes away from a Myhappinesz post, reel or coaching session when they are going through a difficult phase in life?

I want them to pause and question what they have accepted as their reality.

Sometimes one piece of content can make someone realise, “Maybe I don’t have to keep living this way.” That can be the beginning of a much bigger change.

Whether it’s a reel, a post or a coaching session, I want people to leave with more self-awareness, a little more courage and the understanding that they have more agency in their lives than they may have believed.

The Bigger Message Behind Myhappinesz

At its heart, Myhappinesz is about creating a more conscious relationship with oneself. For Komal Narang, personal growth is not about becoming a completely different person or having all the answers. It is about becoming more aware of your patterns, understanding your needs, setting healthier boundaries and having the courage to make intentional choices.

Her journey reflects a simple but powerful idea: sometimes the first step towards a happier and more fulfilling life is recognising that you are allowed to choose differently. Through her work as a Life Coach and creator, Komal hopes to create that moment of reflection for others one that encourages them to reconnect with themselves, trust their choices and take ownership of the life they want to build.
