From pharmaceutical research to everyday wellness, RESET is building a consumer brand around the idea that natural ingredients and scientific rigour can work hand in hand. In this conversation, RESET shares how its roots in Venus Remedies’ R&D capabilities shaped the brand, why it moved beyond pain relief, and what it means to make wellness part of a daily routine.

A2Z Insider: RESET comes from Venus Remedies’ pharmaceutical background but takes a more everyday, lifestyle-led approach to wellness. What inspired the move from traditional healthcare into a consumer wellness brand?

RESET: RESET grew out of work that was already happening inside Venus Remedies. Venus built its name in injectables, critical care and patented formulations, but our R&D teams at the Venus Medicine Research Centre had also spent years in the Natural Products Research Lab, studying herbal ingredients and how to formulate them consistently.

We saw a gap between two kinds of wellness products. Traditional remedies had consumer trust but often lacked standardisation. Science-led healthcare had the rigour but did not always fit naturally into everyday life. Consumers increasingly wanted both: natural ingredients made to the standards they would expect from a medicine.

We launched RESET in July 2021 to address that need. A consumer brand moves at a different pace from a pharmaceutical business and has a different relationship with its customers. What carries over is the expertise of our R&D teams in research, standardisation and formulation, applied to products that people can incorporate into their everyday lives.

A2Z Insider: RESET’s philosophy revolves around Relief, Revive and Restore, rather than simply addressing discomfort. How did this three-part philosophy shape the products and the way you want consumers to think about wellness?

RESET: RESET started with pain relief, and that is where the Relief part of the philosophy comes from. As we listened to customers, it became clear that many of them also wanted support before a problem arrived whether that meant sleeping better, managing stress, or looking after their liver and gut.

Relief, Revive and Restore is how we organise the range. Relief covers those moments when something hurts, with products such as our Ultra Potent Gel, Deep Penetrating Spray and Easy to Rub Emulsion. Revive and Restore focus more on daily habits, with products such as our Detox Candy for liver health and Ashwagandha + Melatonin Gummies for sleep and stress.

The difference is also reflected in how people use these products. A pain-relief gel is generally purchased when it is needed. A gummy, by contrast, is taken every day. We want consumers to think about wellness in that second way as well not only as something to turn to when a problem occurs, but as part of a regular routine.

A2Z Insider: From natural pain-relief solutions using ingredients such as Boswellia, eucalyptus and wintergreen to gummies for sleep, gut health, immunity and beauty, how do you decide which everyday wellness needs RESET should address next?

RESET: We start with a need that consumers consistently raise with us. For our core ranges, our R&D teams then develop the formulation themselves.

Our pain-relief products, Detox Candy and Stretch Easy Oil are proprietary formulations developed through our own research, and most of them are covered by patents.

Our pain-relief range uses nano-based formulations designed to help active ingredients penetrate the skin, with natural ingredients at the core. In a head-to-head study against NSAID-based topicals, these formulations showed five times faster penetration and up to 50 per cent greater efficacy.

Where an established formulation already serves a need well, as with our gummies and our newly launched Marine Collagen Peptides, we choose the formulation and manufacturer carefully rather than reinventing it.

Through these two approaches, RESET has expanded from pain relief into areas including liver health, stress management, gut health, weight management and sleep, and most recently, skin health.

A2Z Insider: RESET combines natural ingredients with science, standardisation and technologies such as nano-based formulations. How do you maintain that balance between the appeal of natural wellness and the scientific standards of a pharmaceutical company?

RESET: Natural ingredients are the foundation of RESET. Our pharmaceutical background determines how we work with them.

A plant extract can vary from one harvest or supplier to another. At Venus, we are accustomed to working to clearly defined specifications. So, in the products we formulate ourselves, we standardise our extracts and develop them to perform consistently from one batch to the next.

The natural origin of an ingredient earns it a place on the shortlist. Consistency and evidence determine whether it makes the final product.

The same discipline applies to the claims we make about our products. Consumers deserve claims that are supported by evidence, and we hold RESET to that standard.

A2Z Insider: As RESET moves wellness from an occasional need into a daily ritual through its “Dose of Goodness” philosophy, what is the larger vision you have for the brand in the next phase of its journey?

RESET: We want wellness to become something people do every day, before a problem forces the issue. The Dose of Goodness idea is about small, regular choices a gummy before bed, a supplement with breakfast, or a few minutes of self-care after exercise.

For RESET, the next phase means building out those daily wellness categories while staying close to our research base.

Every new product, whether we develop it ourselves or carefully select an established formulation, should meet the same test: natural ingredients, quality we can stand behind, and a format that fits naturally into real routines.

If we continue to do that, we believe consumers will come to trust RESET not simply as a solution for an occasional need, but as part of how they look after themselves every day.
