Selina Griggs is a Florida real estate professional, entrepreneur, author, investor, and community advocate whose career reflects a commitment to building businesses, creating opportunities, and empowering others. Based in Bradenton, Florida, she has spent more than a decade developing her presence in the real estate industry and is now entering a new chapter under her maiden name, Selina Griggs.
Today, Griggs is the founder and team leader of SG Global Group, a growing real estate team of 20 agents. After transitioning her brokerage career to eXp Realty, she is focused on expanding her team, strengthening her real estate business, and creating a platform where other agents can grow alongside her.
Her entrepreneurial journey began in 2005, when she launched a home daycare business while raising her infant son. She created the business so she could spend more time with her son while building a career on her own terms rather than working 70-hour weeks. The experience gave her an early foundation in entrepreneurship, leadership, and balancing business with family.
Griggs later returned to college and earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2013, graduating with honors and a 3.75 GPA. Her academic achievement became another important milestone in a journey defined by perseverance, personal growth, and a determination to continue building her future.
She entered the real estate industry professionally in 2014 as a broker associate with Unique Realty of Manatee, where she spent more than five years developing her knowledge of the market and building relationships throughout the community. In 2017, she expanded her entrepreneurial interests into private real estate investing, further broadening her experience in the industry.
Early in her real estate career, Griggs became actively involved with the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee and the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Manatee in 2015. Her involvement with the Women’s Council would become a particularly meaningful part of her leadership journey. In 2019, she was selected as a Women’s Council of REALTORS® Rising Star, an honor recognizing her emerging leadership and contributions.
Today, that recognition has come full circle. Griggs has been elected as the incoming President of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Manatee for 2027, marking another significant milestone in her professional and community leadership journey.
Her commitment to service has also been recognized by the broader community. In 2024, the City of Bradenton honored Griggs with her own proclamation day. February 1 is now officially recognized as Selina Griggs Day, a distinction reflecting her contributions and impact within the community.
Her accomplishments have continued to earn recognition. In 2021, she received the Manasota Honors Realtor of the Year Award and the Woman of the Summer Award. She was also recognized as Realtor of the Month in October 2014. In 2025, Griggs was named Woman of the Year by Sarasota Women in Business. That same year, she received the BPM Global 100 Leading Black Professionals Award, further recognizing her professional accomplishments and leadership.
Beyond real estate, Griggs is passionate about creating opportunities and giving back. She is working to expand the mission of the Selina G. Foundation, her 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Through the foundation, she hopes to leverage her experience, platform, and resources to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive.
Griggs is also an author. Her books include The Journey to Love Again: An Anthology of Resilience (2022) and Millionaire Mom Mindset: Empowering Women for Abundance, Prosperity, and Positive Living (2024). Her writing reflects many of the same themes that have shaped her professional journey: resilience, personal growth, empowerment, financial possibility, and the belief that a person’s past does not have to determine their future.
From entrepreneur and mother to college graduate, real estate professional, investor, team leader, author, nonprofit founder, and community advocate, Griggs’s evolution represents more than professional success. It reflects a broader vision for leadership, legacy, and impact.
As Selina Griggs, she is embracing this next chapter with a renewed focus on entrepreneurship, leadership, philanthropy, and empowering others. With SG Global Group continuing to grow, her leadership within the Women’s Council of REALTORS® entering a new chapter, and the Selina G. Foundation becoming an increasingly important part of her mission, Griggs is positioning herself not simply as a real estate professional, but as a leader dedicated to building businesses, developing people, creating opportunities, and leaving a lasting legacy in her community.
Behind every accomplishment, there is a story, and hers is deeply rooted in faith and family. Her son, Troy, her firstborn, has taught her the meaning of love, strength, and the many lessons that come with motherhood. Her daughter, Norah, keeps her on her toes, challenges her, makes her laugh, and reminds her to slow down and appreciate the little moments. Her brothers have always been a source of protection, encouragement, and unconditional support, reminding her that she never has to face life’s challenges alone. Her mother remains a grounding presence in her life and an incredible source of strength, especially following the loss of her father. Through every chapter both the joyful and the difficult her faith in Jesus Christ continues to give her strength, perspective, and hope. For Griggs, family is at the heart of everything she has become, and the love, lessons, and memories she shares with them remain among the most meaningful parts of her journey.
