India’s startup ecosystem has grown rapidly over the past decade, but for many early-stage founders, the journey from an idea to a successful business can still feel challenging and lonely. Buenstart aims to bridge that gap by giving emerging founders access to visibility, guidance, feedback and a supportive community.

Founded from an understanding of the challenges faced by early-stage entrepreneurs, Buenstart is focused on helping promising startups move beyond simply building a product and take the next step toward validation, visibility and growth.

In this interview, we discuss the inspiration behind Buenstart, the evolution of India’s technology ecosystem, the importance of storytelling for startups and the company’s larger vision for supporting the next generation of Indian founders.

Q1. What inspired the idea behind Buenstart, and what gap did you see in India’s startup ecosystem?

Answer: The idea behind Buenstart came from my experience after coming on Shark Tank. I started receiving a lot of messages from early-stage founders and startups asking for consultation, guidance and simply someone to talk to about the challenges they were facing.

That made me realise there is a big gap in the ecosystem. We have a lot of focus on successful startups and funding, but not enough support for founders who are just getting started.

That’s what made me start Buenstart. The idea is to give early-stage startups a platform where they can get visibility, guidance, feedback and the confidence to take their ideas to the next level.

Q2. How do you see India’s emerging tech ecosystem evolving, and what innovations are you most excited to see?

Answer: We are really excited to see technology being used to make our day-to-day lives easier. AI and IoT are definitely areas we are very excited about, but we also want to see innovations across robotics, wearables, green tech, software and hardware.

India has a huge pool of young founders and creators building interesting products, and I think we are entering a phase where India is not just building software but also creating innovative products and deep-tech solutions.

The innovations that excite us most are the ones that use technology to solve real problems.

Q3. How is Buenstart helping promising creators move from building a product to getting visibility, validation and support?

Answer: For an early-stage founder, building the product is often only half the challenge. Getting discovered, receiving the right feedback and building confidence can be equally difficult.

Buenstart helps startups get featured on our show and website, giving them an opportunity to reach a wider audience.

We also bring together strong panels and people who can brainstorm with founders and offer different perspectives. Having these conversations on camera also helps founders build confidence and trust while explaining their products and vision.

Q4. What have you learned about what makes an Indian tech product resonate with users and supporters?

Answer: One thing I have realised is that Indian people genuinely love seeing startups grow. When people see a founder starting with a small idea and building something meaningful, they connect with that journey.

It is not always just about the product. People also want to know the story behind it and understand the problem the founder is trying to solve.

That is why we want Buenstart to be more than just a startup discovery platform. We want people to discover products and founders they can relate to, care about and eventually support whether that means becoming a customer, sharing the product or backing the idea.

Q5. What is your larger vision for Buenstart?

Answer: The larger vision for Buenstart is to build a strong ecosystem that supports startups from the very early stage and helps them grow into bigger businesses.

We want founders to have access to visibility, guidance, mentors, customers, partners and other resources instead of having to figure everything out alone.

Long term, I want Buenstart to become something like an Indian version of YC, but with a broader community around it where startups can help each other, collaborate and grow together.

The goal is to create a system where a founder can start with a small idea and have a real path to building something big from India.
