The connection between food, lifestyle and overall well-being has become an important part of conversations around modern health. As more people look beyond short-term diet trends, personalised nutrition and sustainable eating habits are gaining attention as practical ways to support long-term wellness.
With more than two decades of experience in nutrition, Shweta Shah advocates a simple, personalised approach that brings together modern nutritional knowledge and traditional Ayurvedic principles. Through her work with EatFit247, she encourages people to understand their individual needs, make mindful food choices and build healthy habits that fit their everyday lives.
In this interview, Shah discusses her philosophy of food as a foundation for well-being, the relationship between gut health and overall health, common dietary mistakes, and her vision for making personalised nutrition more accessible.
A2Z Insider: With over two decades of experience in nutrition, what inspired you to build your approach around using food to support overall health, from gut health and hormonal balance to skin wellness?
Shweta Shah: My mission has always been to help people live a pill-free life wherever possible by understanding the power of food and natural living. My own journey taught me how much the right food and lifestyle can influence the way we feel and live.
I believe in a simple approach: food is our first medicine, and simple is powerful. I follow this philosophy in my own life, too, using natural remedies and focusing on the basics rather than making health complicated.
Over the years, I have come to understand that gut health, hormonal balance, skin health and overall well-being are connected to how we eat and live. I want people to understand their bodies better and make healthier choices every day.
For me, it is not about quick fixes. It is about building simple, sustainable habits that support long-term health.
A2Z Insider: Your work combines modern nutrition with Ayurvedic principles. How do you bring these two approaches together while creating personalised nutrition plans for your clients?
Shweta Shah: I believe modern nutrition and Ayurveda can complement each other. Modern nutrition helps us understand nutrients such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals, while Ayurveda teaches us to pay attention to our body’s individual needs and eating habits.
When I create a personalised nutrition plan, I look at the person as a whole, considering their digestion, lifestyle, food preferences, daily routine and health concerns. I also consider their Ayurvedic Prakriti, or body constitution, as part of my approach.
My goal is to keep things simple and practical. I focus on everyday foods, traditional recipes and sustainable lifestyle habits that people can easily follow.
There is no single diet that works for everyone. The right approach is one that suits your body, fits your life and helps you build healthier habits for the long term.
A2Z Insider: Many people struggle with bloating, hormonal imbalances and weight management despite following popular diet trends. What common dietary mistakes do you believe people should reconsider?
Shweta Shah: I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is not paying enough attention to their everyday eating habits. We are so caught up in modern lifestyles that we often rely on junk food, packaged foods, irregular meal timings and eating in a hurry. We may follow the latest diet trends, but we forget to look at what our body actually needs.
Another common mistake is believing that skipping meals, eating too little or following a restrictive diet is the fastest way to lose weight. In reality, consistency and balanced eating are much more important than quick fixes.
I always encourage people to go back to the basics: eat fresh, home-cooked food, maintain regular meal timings, stay active, sleep well and manage stress. These everyday habits can make a real difference to overall well-being.
Instead of blindly following trends, we need to understand our bodies and build habits that we can sustain for life.
A2Z Insider: Through your work with EatFit247, how do you help clients move beyond short-term diet goals and develop sustainable eating habits that fit their everyday lifestyles?
Shweta Shah: At EatFit247, we believe healthy eating should become a part of your lifestyle, not something you follow for a few weeks to reach a particular goal.
I always encourage my clients to keep things simple. You do not need expensive ingredients, complicated recipes or strict diets to eat healthily. You can start with the food you already eat at home and make small, practical changes to your daily routine.
We focus on understanding each person’s needs, lifestyle, food preferences and health concerns so that their nutrition plan feels natural and easy to follow. We also encourage people to be more mindful of their eating habits, eat fresh, home-cooked meals and stay consistent rather than looking for quick results.
My philosophy is simple: do not follow a diet just to lose weight; learn to eat well for life. When healthy habits become part of your everyday routine, they are much easier to maintain in the long run.
A2Z Insider: Looking ahead, what is your vision for making personalised nutrition more accessible, and what lasting change would you like to create in the way people approach food and wellness?
Shweta Shah: My vision is to make personalised nutrition accessible to more people and help them understand that good health starts with the everyday choices they make. Through EatFit247, I want to reach more individuals and show them how simple changes in food and lifestyle can make a difference.
I believe healthy eating should not be complicated or expensive. People should be able to use everyday ingredients, traditional recipes and practical habits to take better care of themselves. My approach will always be about keeping things simple, understanding individual needs and making healthy living easier to follow.
The lasting change I want to create is a shift in how people think about food. Instead of looking for quick fixes or depending only on diet trends, I want people to see food as an important part of their overall well-being and take a more mindful approach to what they eat.
My ultimate mission is to help people move towards a healthier, more natural way of living, where prevention, awareness and simple daily habits become a way of life.
